If you’re looking for the perfect soundbar to mount under your TV or to fit with a Samsung Frame TV, this is it. The HW-S800B is only 1.6 inches deep, so it won’t stick out far from the wall. It’s also compact enough to fit on a stand in front of a TV easily without obscuring any screens.

This is more than just a slim and stylish soundbar. It includes wireless Dolby Atmos for wireless connection to Samsung TVs. It also works with Q-Symphony, allowing the soundbar and Samsung TV to pair and use the speakers in the TV to boost the sound. The soundbar is a 3.1.2 10-speaker system that includes two upfiring speakers.

I love how much sound comes out of the slim Samsung HW-S800B soundbar. The 10-speaker system delivers impressive room-filling sound and does a great job at leveraging Dolby Atmos to make the sound come from above or behind the room.

The Wireless Dolby Atmos feature allows you to use this mode without running wires to the TV, but it only works with Samsung 2022 TVs. I tested the Dolby Atmos feature with a wired connection and enjoyed the quality of the TV. live sports, video games on Netflix, and gaming on Xbox Series X.

Normally, when you use the soundbar with the TV, the TV speakers are muted, but Samsung TV owners can also take advantage of the Q-Symphony feature. This combines the soundbar with the TV speakers for added depth. I have tried this with other Samsung devices and this is a great upgrade.

The HW-S800B supports Samsung SpaceFit, which analyzes the room and optimizes the sound when connected to a Samsung TV. Samsung also supports AirPlay 2 and ChromeCast, allowing you to send music or other audio to the soundbar. This is a nice feature when I want to listen to music without using the TV.

Compatible Samsung smartphones can tap the soundbar to play music via Bluetooth. Soundbar works with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

Adaptive audio changes the sound profile automatically based on what you’re watching. There’s also Game Mode for more immersive sound with enhanced speakers while you’re gaming. The soundbar may automatically switch to game mode if connected to a Samsung TV while using a compatible game system. With Active Voice Amplifier on, you can hear more clearly the dialogue on your favorite shows. This is useful when streaming programs with a lot of speech.

When I first saw the Samsung HW-S800B, I thought there was no way it could sound as good as it does. I like the look of this soundbar for wall TVs, where it can blend into a wall setup more easily than most soundbars. The single display is made up of LEDs, indicating that the soundbar has received a remote command.

Samsung will even offer a variety of cases that will allow you to change the color of the HW-S800B to match your room or your Samsung Frame TV. The soundbar is 1.5 inches deep and 1.6 inches high, so it won’t stick out of the wall when mounted.

With the ability to wirelessly connect to Samsung TVs and enjoy Dolby Atmos, you can set this up with just one power cord to hide. This is one of the most beautiful soundbars I have ever seen.

The only wired connection is the Micro-HDMI port. Samsung features a Micro-HDMI to HDMI port that lets you connect to any modern TV easily via HDMI. This system doesn’t include an HDMI port, so you’ll need to connect all sources directly to the TV and then run the audio to the soundbar via HDMI, WiFi, or Bluetooth.

The subwoofer connects wirelessly to the system for easy placement around the room. There are no rear satellite speakers that you need to run on electricity or find space in your room. If you want to add surround speakers, you can purchase an optional upgrade kit.
